A safe haven in Iowa. A family for a lifetime. Welcome to Country Sunsets & Kitties.

OUR HEART, OUR PURPOSE
Our mission
To provide lifetime care for special needs & feral/community cats, provide outreach promoting TNR (trap, neuter, return), educating on importance of spaying and neutering to decrease homeless cats, and helping responsible cat owners find resources to continue to care for their cats.
That care continues every day: full food bowls, clean spaces, veterinary care, and time spent getting to know each little personality. When you support the sanctuary, you become part of their story.
Find your way to help ↗EXTRA CARE. A LIFETIME OF LOVE.

Care looks different for every cat. From veterinary visits and medications to daily support, comfortable spaces, and extra patience, we help each kitty feel safe and loved throughout their life.
Your support helps us provide the ongoing care these special members of our family depend on.

From royal floof to quiet companionship, every kitty has a place here. Meet a few familiar faces from our sanctuary family.

Rescued from a feral colony as a kitten, Tyke is now 10 years old. Our long-haired tabby, affectionately known as “His Royal Floofiness,” brings a little royalty to our country family.

Stevie is blind in his right eye from a severe eye infection before he was rescued. He also had perineal urethrostomy (PU) surgery due to chronic urinary blockages. A much-loved member of our family, Stevie is part of the reason special needs care is so close to our hearts.

Rescued as a barn kitty, Rambo warmed up to people and is now a sweet senior at 13 years old. He’s the familiar face in our sunset banner, welcoming you to our little corner of Iowa.
More familiar faces, more stories to love.
